Privacy Policy
How Cupid Collective™ handles your data
In a nutshell
Effective 27 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data Cupid Collective™ (operated by EDMCupid) collects when you create an account, submit music, and interact with the community — and the choices and rights you have over that data. We keep things limited: only what's needed to run the platform, nothing sold to third parties.
1. Who we are
Cupid Collective™ is the community platform operated by EDMCupid, with Mr.Chippy acting as webmaster and maintainer. For any privacy question or request, contact us at edmcupid@wandr-media.io.
2. Account data & how you sign in
You can create an account using an email address and password, or by signing in with Google.
- Email/password accounts: we store your email address, your display name, and a password hash managed by our authentication provider. We also store optional profile details you choose to add (for example a profile avatar, bio, genre house, badges, and Cupid Coin balance).
- Google Sign-In: when you sign in with Google, we receive only the information Google shares for authentication — your openid, email, and basic profile (such as your name and avatar, where supplied). This is used solely to create and sign you into your account.
We do not request, and the app does not have access to, your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google Contacts, Calendar, or any other Google product content. Google Sign-In is limited to authentication.
3. Google API Services — Limited Use disclosure
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We request only the scopes needed to authenticate you (openid, email, and profile); we do not transfer Google product data to third parties and do not use it for advertising or any purpose beyond operating your account.
4. Submissions & music links
When you submit a track, promo submission, clip, sticker design, or remix entry, you provide us with a link to content hosted on a third-party platform (such as SoundCloud, Twitch, TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube), plus the title, artist name, genre, and any message you choose to include. We store these details and the link so your submission can be reviewed, displayed, and (where applicable) showcased within the Cupid Collective™ and EDMCupid services.
We also store your account identifier so that credit, rewards, and notifications can be linked back to you. The linked content itself remains on the third-party platform and is governed by that platform's own terms and privacy policy.
5. Profile & community interactions
Interactions you take within the community are stored so they can be shown and managed. This includes collab requests and replies, collab board posts, community playlists, track reactions, reviewer feedback and feedback reactions, and entries on leaderboards such as Top Producers.
Your public profile may display your display name, avatar, genre house, badges, and submitted tracks. Other members can see this public-facing information.
6. Support & contact messages
When you submit a support ticket or use the contact form, we process the details you provide — such as your email, name, the subject, the message, and (for support tickets) the page URL where an issue occurred — solely to read, respond to, and resolve your request.
7. Optional Community Map location (city/town level)
The Community Map lets you optionally pin yourself so other members can discover you. When you choose to do this, you provide a city or town label.
We store an approximate pin position so you can be placed on the map, but only the city or town name is ever displayed to others — never your exact address or precise GPS coordinates. This feature is entirely optional; if you don't add a location, nothing about your location is collected.
8. Live "listening now" presence
When you open a track's details, the platform may briefly show your display name to others viewing the same track as a "listening now" indicator. This is a transient, in-session signal tied to your activity and does not include your email or contact details.
9. Usage & security logs
We keep limited technical logs needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the platform — for example, authentication events, error reports, and abuse-prevention signals. These logs are used to keep the service running and to protect accounts.
10. Cookies & local storage
The platform uses only the cookies and browser local storage that are strictly necessary to function — for example, keeping you signed in, remembering your sound preference, your theme, and onboarding state. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
11. Why we process your data (legal bases)
Where GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to create your account, display your submissions, and provide the features you sign up for.
- Legitimate interests — to operate securely, prevent abuse, analyse how the platform is used, and keep the community functioning — balanced against your rights.
- Consent — for optional features like the Community Map location and any non-essential preferences you actively choose to add. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — where we are required to retain or disclose data by law.
12. Service providers we rely on
- Base44 — provides hosting, the database, and authentication infrastructure for the platform.
- Google — provides Google Sign-In authentication for users who choose it.
These providers process data on our behalf as processors and are bound to protect it. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
13. Third-party music & social links
Tracks, clips, and remixes are linked from third-party platforms (for example SoundCloud, Twitch, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube). When you follow one of these links you leave Cupid Collective™ and are subject to that platform's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for how those platforms handle your data.
14. How long we keep your data
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Submissions and community interactions are retained while needed to operate the relevant features and as reflected on your profile, and may be kept for legitimate records (such as fraud and abuse prevention) after specific content is removed. You can ask us to delete your data at any time — see "Your rights" below.
15. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data — including access controls, authentication, and processing through trusted providers. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep the platform safe.
16. International data transfers
Cupid Collective™ is used by a global community. Your data is processed through our service providers' infrastructure, which may be located outside your country. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as recognised transfer mechanisms) to help ensure your data is protected to a comparable standard.
17. Your GDPR rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Erase your data or delete your account;
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at edmcupid@wandr-media.io. We'll respond in line with applicable law.
18. Deleting your account & data
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing edmcupid@wandr-media.io. We'll action your request in line with our legal obligations, though we may need to keep certain records where required by law or for legitimate security purposes.
19. Children's privacy
Cupid Collective™ is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we'll take steps to delete it.
20. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the revised version with a new effective date. For significant changes we'll aim to notify you through the platform. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
